CCR Volunteer Application

Dear Potential Volunteer,
I cannot tell you how thrilled I am to have you be interested in helping us to save more collies! Volunteers, especially interviewers, are always needed. There are always collies out there waiting to be saved and we are in continual need of volunteers who will stick with us for the long haul. You are the special people that make the rescue possible. You know that without people who care and give their time for these dogs, these dogs would have no permanence in their lives - or their permanence would be dark.
Please be patient while we process your application. Anything worth doing in life is worth doing right and we endeavor to do things right and do our due diligence. We want you to feel comfortable with our process and feel comfortable with the responsibility you have chosen. We will not turn you loose without a mentor or training. If you have experience volunteering for other rescues, that is fantastic, but it is certainly not necessary. We want this to be a positive experience for you so that you stick with us. :)
A couple of miscellaneous thoughts:
* I am here for you and for any questions you might have about our process before a mentor gets assigned to you - my name is Jennifer Tippens and my number is 865-368-8759.
* If you decide to foster, we have a separate application here.
* All resident dogs in the home should be up to date on vaccinations - distemper, bordatello and rabies. If you work with animals, you can carry diseases home with you on your clothing and we would not want your own pets to get sick because you were giving your time and energy to us.
* All resident dogs and cats in the house must be spayed or neutered unless part of an authorized and nationally recognized breeding program for pedigreed animals only. The BoD would vote on a case by case basis on this, so have documentation ready.
* You must have daily computer access and be minimally computer savvy (email, and be able to learn our web-based computer system- and use it) in order to be an Interviewer.
* You must be 16 years of age or older to volunteer. You must be 18 years of age or older to Interview or check references.
Thank you for reading this far and thank you SO MUCH for your time and interest in our program! I think you and the Collies thank you!!!
